On December 12, 2018, the UPEcon R4d Team presented the preliminary survey results in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija as part of its dissemination activities.
The team presented the profile and distribution of CVD risk factors (age, gender, smoking status, BMI, blood pressure) and 10-year CVD risk (Globorisk score), knowledge of CVD risk factors, and health-seeking behavior of the sample by wealth quintile and urbanity.
More than 60 municipal & city health officials, including one mayor from Nueva Ecija cities and municipalities attended the event.
They expressed interest to know more from the survey results on how to encourage those who are at risk to visit health facilities. The team expects to conduct their next presentation to highlight the results of their interventions. The presentation successfully ended with a promising note.
At the end of the presentation Joseph gave the weighing scales and blood pressure monitors we used in the survey to the local health officials to use in their clinics.
